Artisana Coconut Oil

Besides that jar of Artisana Coconut Butter that my cousin had brought back for me from New York, she had also brought a jar of Artisana Coconut Oil for me to try. For a few years I had been hearing praises from the Paleo and CrossFit community for Artisana's products, and naturally I was excited to try it out.

Upon unscrewing the lid of the jar, there wafted out a strong coconutty scent like that of the coconut butter. But having found the coconut butter to taste delicious and to not carry any nauseating coconutty aroma, I was not at all apprehensive of this product.

One Sunday morning after doing heavy squats and leg work, I started craving for some good fatty oily red meat. So I defrosted a packet of cubed lamb shoulder and daringly panfried it with a tablespoon of Artisana coconut oil, some black pepper, sea salt and onion powder.

The meaty result smelled good, and tasted even better. No coconutty aroma or flavour at all - just pure lambalicious goodness for a hungry girl. Going into details, I reckon the coconut oil tasted more silky on the tongue than Jarrow's Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, and just.... tasted better. Makes me afraid that I will never be able to go back to cheaper coconut oil!

You can buy Artisana's Coconut Oil at iherb.com for US$12.41. If it is your first time ordering from iHerb, the coupon code "XOJ002" will save you US$5 on your first order. Alternatively, the coconut oil is available at Amazon.com forUS$15.99. Do give it a go with your cooking - you will not regret it!
